We need people who are willing to shop on the Internet and tell us about their experiences. You don't have to have ever shopped by computer before, or even know much about computers. You do need to have access to one, and know how to connect to the Internet from it. We'll pay you similar rates to what you'd earn in standard mystery shopping jobs, but you won't have to travel or deal with boring paperwork.
We need lots of different shoppers from different walks of life, who live in different places. We want our shoppers to be as much like our clients' regular customers as possible, so it may take a while until we find the right match for you. Don't think we've forgotten about you!
A typical shopping assignment will take about an hour, though it could be more depending on how fast or slow your connection to the Internet is, how quickly you can type, and how much time is involved in dealing with customer service.
- Timing. Once you've applied, done a training assignment, got an e-mail from us offering you a paid project, and accepted the project, find a time before the deadline date when you'll have a solid hour to work.
- Log-in. Come to our web site, click the "For Shoppers" link, then click the "Login/Update Personal Info" link.
- Start Project. Once signed in, you'll get to a page where you'll click a link to see and print your task, and another to begin your shopping.
- Answer Questions as You Shop. As you shop, you'll flip back and forth between the site you are testing and pages with questions from us about how helpful or interesting each page is, how easy it is to find what you are looking for, whether the links worked, etc. You'll send your comments back to us as you go, by clicking a "send" button on the pages of questions. You will also contact customer service to see how they handle questions. You may be asked to buy something (with our money, not yours).
- Be Honest & Detailed. Please do the work promptly, thoroughly, and give us your honest opinions. Mystery Shopping Coach, Melanie Jordan, has this to say about how to answer mystery shopping questionnaires well. Read her article 5 Tips for Better Narratives.
- Get Paid. Once the job is done, we'll review your answers, and, assuming there are no problems with your work, we'll mail you a check.
