Informal Summary

We will not share your personal information with anybody outside of Web Mystery Shoppers, or trusted companies that do things like hosting a backup for us.

If you do mystery shopping for us, the clients will get a report on what you and others thought of their site, but they will have no way of knowing that it was you who said it. They will not be given your name, or anything else that could identify you.


The Legalese

Reasonable Collection and Use of Personal Information

Web Mystery Shoppers will collect from its Web Shoppers and use only such personal information as is reasonably necessary for the identified purpose that will be stated (either orally or in writing) at or prior to the time of collection of the personal information.

Type of Personal Information Collected

We confirm that at this point in time, we have collected and will continue to collect personal information on our Web Shoppers relating to, among other things: their past endeavours as relayed to us in the Web Shoppers’ application form or in screening or other surveys we may send from time to time.

Use, Retention and Disclosure of Personal Information

The use and disclosure of the personal information will be limited to the purpose for which it was collected.  If information is to be used or disclosed for a new purpose, consent to the new purpose will be obtained orally or where we find it advisable, in writing, from you.  We will retain your personal information during the course of having your provide services to Web Mystery Shoppers and for a minimum of one (1) year thereafter.  Web Mystery Shoppers reserves the right to determine exactly when to destroy the personal information after the one (1) year period but, the personal information when destroyed will be destroyed in such a fashion so as to minimize the risk of its disclosure to any unauthorized person.

Oversight and Redress

Each Web Shopper has the responsibility to ensure that any changes in personal information including home addresses or unlisted telephone numbers are provided to us within 7 days of the change having been effected.

Protection of Personal Information

Each Web Shopper’s personal information will be either password protected if kept electronically or kept under lock and key if retained in a paper format.

The Gatekeeper-Right to Review and Correct

The Gatekeeper of the Web Shoppers’ personal information is the company’s Shopper Liaison.  You can review your personal information on reasonable notice, during regular business hours by making that request of the Shopper Liaison (shop@webmysteryshoppers.com).  You have the right to request a correction be made to your personal information.  Web Mystery Shoppers will determine whether that correction should be made or how it should be dealt with within 30 days of the request for correction having been first made to the Shopper Liaison.  You can make an inquiry or complaint directly to the Shopper Liaison at any time, in writing. 

Appeal Process

In the event that you are not satisfied with the outcome of your request, decision or interaction with the Shopper Liaison you have a right to appeal to the President of Web Mystery Shoppers.  To appeal to the President you need only provide written notice of your request for an appeal to the Shopper Liaison and the Shopper Liaison is required to forward to the same to the President at which point you will receive a further communication from Web Mystery Shoppers regarding whether a meeting or written reply will be provided to you in relation to the issue.

Changes to Privacy Policy

Our privacy policy may change from time to time and those changes will be recorded in this document and be published on our website.
