Our mystery shoppers are located mainly in the US and Canada. We can't use their real names here but they include people such as:
Sarah: A married, 42-year old university educated mother of three. After several years in the workplace, she's taking a career break to spend more time with her kids. She's used computers mainly for e-mail, but is interested in online shopping now that she's got a new baby and can't get out as easily.
Rajiv: A 32-year old bank branch manager, who wonders what sort of experience his customers have when they bank online. Most of his computer use is at work: he's used the corporate intranet, e-mail, and done a training course online. At home, he researched his last car purchase online, but ended up buying from a local dealer.
June: A widowed 78-year old woman who recently bought her first computer in order to connect with her children and grandchildren, who are spread throughout the United States. She's just discovering how online shopping could make it easier for her to buy gifts, and even cut down the number of trips she has to make outside on icy winter streets or in suffocating summer heat.
Ron : A single, 20-year old university student. He's moderately computer-savvy, having grown up with computers as part of his world, but hasn't done a lot of online shopping yet. He's got a busy social life, and would mainly be tempted by shopping that can save him time or money. (Oh, yeah, and music downloading!)
